Ostap Shutko is one of the most famous Ukrainian musicians of our time. He was born in L'viv in the family of musicians (his mother is prominent Ukrainian violinist). After graduating from L'viv S.Krushel'nyts'ka Music Boarding School (studied with H.Heifiz, I.Shutko) and L'viv Lysenko Higher Musical Institute (now Academy) (Prof.L.Shutko) Ostap continues his studies at the Guildhall School in London with world famous violinist and pedagogue Prof.I.Neaman and at the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv (Prof.B.Kotorovych).During his studies in L'viv he becomes a prize-winner of the international competitions in Vilnius, Weimar, Premysl, Barcelona, Kyiv. He receives the President of Ukraine Scholarship, the Queen of Spain Scholarship and UNESCO Scholarship. He meets with outstanding musicians such as Z.Bron, M.Estrella, L.Spiller, A.Lysy, S.Sondetskis, D.Bashkirov, L.Witoszynsky and many others. At this time Ostap founds "Ukrainian quartet". Quartet takes part in the most famous string quartet competitions Evian and Premio Paolo Borcianiпi. He is a leader of the international orchestra in Bayreuth and London Philharmonic Symphony Youth Orchestra. After returning to Ukraine Ostap Shutko works as an artist of State Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Soloists" and becomes the winner of the international competition in Viennaі. From 1999 he teaches violin at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and becomes the youngest teacher in the history of Academy. He does not stop his concert activity as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2001 he has got Ukrainian Academy of Arts Award. At the moment Ostap Shutko is one of he most famous Ukrainian musicians and every his appearance on the stage is a very interesting event in the musical life of Ukraine. Ostap Shutko performs in Poland, Germany, France, England, Spain, Italy and many other coutries. He has CD, TV and Radio recordings. He is a jury member of the international competitions.
